Tired of that old, slow PC?

You probably can use a lot of the parts from your old PC to make a new one!

If you have at least a 486 computer, you can use these parts for an upgrade: monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, floppy disk drive, CD-ROM drive, sound card, and maybe even the video card . That means you'll need to replace the motherboard, CPU, memory, and possibly the case and power supply.

You may want to add a higher capacity hard drive because the latest programs and operating systems need much more space on your hard drive. Besides, if an component is going to fail, most likely it will be the hard drive. Why not replace it now?

You may need to replace the case and power supply. PC power supplies have changed to ATX style since 486s, which have different connectors than the older 486-style computers. If you are upgrading a pentium or better PC, then you probably can keep your old case and power supply. However, some of the newer video cards (the ones with external power connectors) may require you to upgrade your power supply.

FREDPC can upgrade your current PC by replacing the case, changing motherboard and CPU to 2Ghz/64-bit, 512MB of 400mhz DDR memory, ATX mini tower case with 420W power supply, and adding at least 80GB hard drive for $400! FREDPC can also upgrade the video card for $75 and add more memory at  $50 for each 512meg.

An upgrade can be done if you notify FREDPC.com by phone or E-mail to give advanced notice to acquire parts. Once FREDPC takes delivery of your old computer it will be upgraded within 5 business days.
